Democrats’ Values

Too many voters do not understand what Democrats stand for beyond some specific policies. It is values that drive policies, but Democrats have not clearly explained our values. Unfortunately, the GOP has been quite successful at misinforming voters about what Democrats and Republicans do and stand for. Consequently, more voters think Republicans are better for the economy than Democrats. Too many voters think it is Democrats that are going to take away our freedoms when the opposite is true.

There are but a few basic principles behind what the Democrats do and stand for:

Democrats stand for:

  • A prosperous economy where the most people and businesses thrive.
    • Basic Public Investments (BPIs)
    • Valuing All Workers
    • A Fair System
  • Our Freedoms
    • Our rights and liberties to make our own choices in life except where it would infringe on those of others.
    • Fighting for the tolerance of all ensures the tolerance of each of us in our life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
  • A genuine Democracy
    • Voters’ rights
    • Uncorrupted by the money or influence of the few
    • Uncorrupted by misinformation
    • Free and Fair elections
  • Environment
    • Taking care of our environment that our existence, health, livelihood, safety, quality of life, and future depend on.
  • Government
    • Smart, efficient, proactive, and capable local, state, and national governments.
    • Not too big or small considering there are about 333 million of us!
  • Overall
    • That which makes a healthy people, environment, and democracy.
    • A vibrant and sustainable economy that benefits all.
    • A stable and civil society that respects the rights and liberties of all citizens.
